Announce plans for a food garden on the White House lawn, making one of the White House's eight gardeners responsible for it, with part of produce going to the White House kitchen and the rest to a local food pantry. The White House is "America's House" and should set an example. The new President would not be breaking with tradition, but returning to it (the White House has had vegetable gardens before) and showing how we can meet global challenges such as climate change and food security.

Vote.org: National ballot Initiatives for REAL Democracy!

Let voters share law-making power with Congress, giving US a check and balance against torture, domestic spying, perpetual war & debt, Presidential "signing statements," ad nauseum. The Swiss have kept their Parliament honest this way since 1891! National ballot initiatives would be like state ones but far more deliberative, easier and less influenced by money. The best proposal is by Sen. Mike Gravel and YOU can now vote to ratify it at VOTE.org, much as citizens ratified the Constitution!

SAVE THE WORLD FROM AL GORE

Leave CO2 alone. It is not a pollutant. It is not a true green house gas. If we eliminate all CO2 from the atmosphere the planet dies. Plants need CO2 for photosynthesis. Animals need plants for food. No CO2 NO Life.

End the cowboy diplomacy

End the cowboy diplomacy. The next President needs to begin their term by restoring American credibility and American political and moral authority around the globe by reaching out to the rest of the world.

Submit Kyoto for Ratification

Submit the Kyoto Protocol for ratification by Congress. There are outstanding concerns, such as the participation of countries like China, but it is a step in the right direction. 720 American cities and the entire state of California have already made a commitment to Kyoto. At this point, it is the least a national leader can do.

Get the 9/11 Families the REAL investigation they -and we- deserve!

The same 9/11 widows etc. who made the 9/11 Commission happen have now made the film 9/11 Press for Truth (view below) showing it was a whitewash. NY Times reporter Philip Shenon's new book The Commission reveals that much "evidence" came from torture and that Commission Exec. Director Philip Zelikow was joined at the hip with Condi Rice, consulted with Karl Rove during the investigation and then had those phone logs suppressed! Let's get a real investigation NOT controlled by politicians.

Bullying tactics of Barack Obama against Hillary may be a signal for all women in this country. Watch out!

Barack Obama is using bullying tactics in his comments about Hillary. He's not focusing on what needs to happen here-a healing of racial and sexual wounds that go deep and cause real pain. He is furthering that pain for women. His treatment of Hillary will reflect how he treats womens' issues if he is elected. He's a black man who should be accutely aware of the stereotype of black men abusing their women. I don't want him in power if he can't behave better than he has been doing.
