Perhaps we should ask Mr. Pickens to organize a group to fight for his ideas. This sounds like a great way to solve a major problem.

We should ask Mr. Pickens if he and others could reflect on how we can arrive at structuring things in dimensions we can handle. How big should big companies be? How small should small be? What is the right size of things? We need to reflect on this because it seems to me that we failed up till now to understand what the correct dimensions of business ought to be. Big oil has failed us! Big auto business has failed us! A huge overdoing it with the creation of swaps and derivatives has been something of a nightmare! How can we build a measure of size awareness and correctness in whatever we develop in the future energy world.. whatever that may turn out to be? If all we do is repeat the errors and the horrors of the past, we will not improve on our world at all. I think that even in terms of investments we should be cautious about concentrating too much power in the hands of people who are really megalomaniacs and not real sensible people. If the goal of these people is simply to accumulate power, then we will not be any better off and it's only a question of time before we end up in the same place we are now: totally bankrupt... in funds, in ideas and in truly worthy objectives for ourselves and our world. The concept of war and its usefulness also needs to be reexamined and dealt with... Korea was a wasted war....Vietnam was a waste... the Gulf war was a waste.... all the othere minii wars the US has waged have turned out to be nothing but a huge waste of lives and money... we must learn to decide when it is absolutely necessary to go to war and then we must decide how to wage it... the idea that we will do anything... bear any sacrifice... spend any amount of money... kill any number of people... do any imagineable damage to the environment just to win.... is there anyone who thinks that is still doable? And the politicians who utter those words.... just to get us all riled up to fight... are they really good politicians or are they just opportunists who are power hungry and blood thirsty? If we do not ask these questions now... when we are practically about to remake this world... then we are not doing our job and will not be improving thing at all. A world in which machines replace man,...be they wind turbines or engines of mass destruction...instead of a world in which man controls the machines... is not going to do us any good... reflection and determination is what we need... now....
